Anime Origins Trait Planner

Odds, pity notes, and who should eat your Trait Rerolls.

Trait Planner

This page is a planning sheet, not an in-game auto-reroll. You still open Areas, walk to the Trait Reroll NPC, pick a unit, and spend one Trait Reroll per click. What the planner adds is the decision you should make before that click: which unit deserves the roll, which trait is a keep, and when pity makes it worth continuing. The click-by-click NPC path lives in how to reroll traits. Rankings in S-through-D form live on the trait tier list.

Each unit can store two traits and keep only one active. Treat the second slot as a backup, not a reason to keep rolling forever. If the active trait already matches the unit’s job, park the extra Trait Reroll on a different keeper instead of gambling the good result away.

Who should eat the rerolls

Spend Trait Rerolls on the carry you will still place in a week—the Secret or Mythic damage unit that clears bosses and late Story Mode waves. Do not spend them on a temporary Epic you summoned to fill an empty slot. Farm units such as Bluma want income traits (Looting, Hustler, or the income slice on Immortal), but they should not eat an Immortal pity chase.

Immortal has a placement limit of one, and only one unit per team can hold it. That unit belongs in placement 1 as your primary carry, not as a cash printer sitting in the back. If two friends in online co-op both roll Immortal, you still cannot stack it on the same team: pick one carry before wave one.

If a farm unit already has Looting or Hustler, stop. If a carry already has Ace, Head Hunter, Fury III, or better, only continue if you are specifically chasing Overseer, Ascendant, or Immortal.

Odds by rarity band

Launch tracking lists these roll chances inside each rarity band. They are planning numbers, not a promise that 100 taps will print the exact mix.

Rare

TraitBoostChance
Reach I+5% Range26%
Fury I+5% Damage26%
Haste I-5% Cooldown26%
Reach II+10% Range7.34%
Haste II-7.5% Cooldown7.33%
Fury II+10% Damage7.33%

Rare I rolls are filler. Keep rolling unless you are completely dry and the unit has nothing else.

Epic

TraitBoostChance
Fury III+15% Damage25%
Haste III-12.5% Cooldown25%
Head Hunter+20% Crit Chance, +25% Crit Damage25%
Reach III+15% Range25%

Fury III and Head Hunter are acceptable stops on a damage carry if Trait Rerolls are low. Reach III is a keep only on units that desperately need coverage.

Legendary

TraitBoostChance
Hawkeye+30% Range25%
Scholar+50% EXP25%
Ace+10% Damage, -5% Cooldown, +10% Range20%
Nimble-20% Cooldown18.5%
Looting+20% Income11.5%

Ace is the all-round keep. Nimble is excellent on units whose kit scales with attack rate. Scholar belongs on a leveling project, not in a main carry’s active slot. Looting belongs on farm.

Mythic and Secret

TraitBoostChance
Hustler+15% Range, +30% Income22%
Ascendant+35% Boss Damage, +10% Damage, +10% Range19%
Decay+40% DoT Damage, -10% Cooldown, +10% Range16.5%
Stride-10% Damage, -10% Cooldown, +5% Range; Tempo stacks14.5%
Rupture+30% Crit Chance, +35% Crit Damage12.5%
Joker+5% Damage, -5% Cooldown, +5% Range; per-wave random11.4%
Overseer+20% Damage, -5% Cooldown, +10% Range; 30% True Damage4.1%
Immortal+200% Damage, -15% Cooldown, +20% Range, +25% Income; Placement Limit 10.1%

Stride builds Tempo: −2% Cooldown per stack, up to −20%, then +10% Range at max stacks. Tempo resets after five seconds without attacking, so it wants a unit that never idles. Joker re-rolls extra modifiers every wave (0% to 25%) and does not carry them forward—fine for fun, unreliable for a planned clear. Overseer adds True Damage equal to 30% of damage dealt. Immortal restores base power at 0 stocks after Wave 10 once per match, instantly killing nearby non-boss enemies and knocking the rest back.

Pity notes

Immortal is the long chase: about 0.1% per roll with pity near 1,300. Overseer is the realistic mythic target: about 4.1% with pity near 900. Community tracking also places Joker near 700, Rupture near 550, Stride near 475, and Ascendant near 425. Pity is tracked per unit while you roll that unit. Switching targets can waste a counter you already paid for.

Redeem extra Trait Rerolls from Codes after Level 10 instead of buying panic rolls. Sort a mixed code bag with the currency guide before you walk back to the NPC.

Carry versus farm

  • Carry: chase Immortal, Overseer, Ascendant, Rupture, Stride, Decay, or Ace. Head Hunter and Fury III are valid stops when the stack is thin.
  • Farm: keep Looting or Hustler and stop. Do not park Immortal here.
  • Hybrid: store Hustler and activate a damage trait, then swap if a match needs cash more than burst.

Log pity before you switch servers

Public lobbies hold up to 22 players and private servers are free, but neither one saves you from a sloppy reroll. Before you leave the hub, write the unit name, the active trait, the stored trait, and the pity count. If you are in online co-op, tell the group which account is allowed to run Immortal so two players do not both lock a placement-1 carry and then discover the trait cannot stack on the team. Come back to this planner only when you have enough Trait Rerolls to matter—do not burn a three-roll code drop on a unit you already decided to replace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many traits can one unit hold?

Two stored, one active. Set the keep as active and use the second slot as a backup, not as an excuse to keep gambling.

What are Immortal and Overseer pity numbers?

Immortal is about 0.1% with pity near 1,300. Overseer is about 4.1% with pity near 900. Both are planning figures from launch tracking.

Should I roll Immortal on a farm unit?

No. Immortal is one-per-team with placement limit 1. Put it on your primary carry in placement 1. Farm units want Looting or Hustler.

Where do I actually click to reroll?

Follow [how to reroll traits](/guides/how-to-reroll-traits/) for the Areas NPC steps. Use this planner to decide who and when, then check the [trait tier list](/tier-list/traits/) if you want a shorter rank table.

How do I get more Trait Rerolls?

Story Mode, challenges, quests, and the live list on [Codes](/codes/) after Level 10. Do not spend a small drop on a unit you will replace.
